Broken love

Shock and grief has engulfed Piny Owacho village in Uriri sub-county after a jilted husband committed suicide in his first wife house after second wife left him.

Erick Odii was pronounced dead as he was rushed to Rapcom Hospital and his body was taken to the morgue at the same hospital.

His brother Landi Oganyo said the deceased said he had taken poision worth Sh20 before he died, but refused to say which posion.

He said the deceased has been looking traumatized since his second wife ran away following family wrangles.

“He tried to follow the second wife to their home in Suna West sub county unfortunately he was told that the wife is in Nairobi,” Oganyo said.

He said the news left him traumatized.

The incident was confirmed by the areas assistant chief Mrs. Juliet Atieno who said that the first wife to the deceased found a cup which they suspect that he used for consuming poison thrown beneath the bed.

She said the body of deceased has been taken to Rapcom hospital mortuary as investigations into the death continue.
