Nyatike constituency made history by having peaceful Orange Democratic Movement grass root electioons despite claims by leaders based in Nairobi of chaos.

Previously, a section of leaders from Nyatike called in and had talk shows at Radio Mayienga to claim the Returning Officer Singh Atieno had been abducted.

“I was in my office at DC’s compound from last Friday until we finalized the elections peacefully today. We had an open, free and fair elections despite rumours peddled by distractors,” Atieno told a jubilant crowd at Macalder Stadium earlier today.

He said there was a fake RO who came with a fake list after he claimed he had received a text from Orange House to carry the elections.

“We had peaceful elections at polling centers, ard levels and today at constituency as both delegates were given a fair chance,” he said.

Area MP and Migori Parliamentary Group Edick Anyanga said the elections ran smoothly and was only being targeted by anti-ODM leaders.

“Today we have shamed the devil in Nyatike and showed the world we can carry free and fair elections. We cleared and air of complains of people who never reach the ground but perennially complian of losing elections,” he said.

The following leaders were elected:
Mainstream: Christopher Muganda (Chairman), Maurice Agwanda (Secretary)
Youth League: Maurice Ouma (Chairman), Bernard Oremo (Secretary)
Women League: dorothy Auma Onyango (Chair), Nancy Orimba (Secretary)

“We had a peaceful elections, those who wanted to bring chaos should know their time is up before 2017. Instead of going to radio to tarnish our name they shold come to the ground,” Dorothy said.

Earlier youths allied to a loser in last polls tried to disrupt the exercise before the RO brought a list which found earlier elections at polling centers and wards were intact.
