Immediate former Migori county public service board chair Jared Kopiyo has refused to comment after the assembly ousted him and his entire team.

The former Awendo MP has not picked calls or answer texts from the press for a comment, with latest report indicating he was keen to be picked by Kenya Kwanza government,

On Monday, the ad hoc committee chaired by South Kamagambo MCA Collins Agai’s report was embraced by all 52 MCAs in the house.

Kopiyo, his vice chair Jemimah Were and members Enock Odhiambo, Hesborn Omwa, Phoebe Aloo and Range Mwita were kicked out unanimously.

On January 9 three petitioners Maurice Kihingu, Tom Codo and Cleson Opere tabled the petition saying the board failed to adhere to chapter six of the constitution.

The petitioners also singled out Aloo, Mwita and Omwa after they “presented to the selection panel forged copies of tax compliance certificates from KRA.”

The board was also accused of improper employment of un-qualified staff especially as security guard, illegal over employment to bloat the payroll and failure to indicate conflict of interest while employing relatives.

“We received and acted on a public petition which was brought before the assembly, the board and each individual member was given a chance to defend themselves in an open and public process,” Agai said.

“We considered and gave the members time in compiling the report as they were represented by a lawyer, the members of the public also attended and gave their views,” Agai said.
