Migori police have launched manhunt for two suspects after arresting one with a pistol stolen from a police boss in Rongo sub-county.

The pistol was stolen from the Kamagambo Deputy OCS in May when he was attacked on his way home.

police said they acted on a tip off from members of the public that the stolen pistol was traced in Awendo, Migori County.

Awendo sub-county police commander Mathias Pombo said the suspect was recovered and the suspect arrested and arraigned in court.

“The suspect was arrested on Tuesday and the pistol recovered after a member of the public gave a tip off to the police,” Pombo said..

Mr. Pombo said the suspect was cornered by the police officers in his house within Awendo town, and is currently in custody awaiting arraignment as police continue with further investigation.

During the late-night attack on May 28, the OCS was hacked by the suspects and was rescued by the members of the public that responded to the distress call from the victim.

An earlier report from the county police boss indicated that the attackers were three in number.
