Businessman Philip Mwabe has refusted claims that he has shelved down his ambition to be migori next governor and instead he will vie for the senator seat during the August 9 polls.

Mwabe said he was aware of the rumours which he called cheap propaganda started by his rivals whom he said were not equal to the task.

“Mwabe will be the next Migori governor, i am yet to see my equal in the crowded field either in ODM or other parties. Those senator rumours are unfounded,” Mwabe said.

He said the rumours were hatched and started by his rival.

“I am aware that a panic button has already been switched by other aspirants who thought the ODM ticket was a foregone case, we will win it in either way the party will choose to do nominations,” Mwabe said.

Mwabe is angling out for most sought after ODM ticket alongside Migori senator Ochillo Ayacko, Migori Woman Representative Pamela Odhiambo and businessman Robert Okong’o in nominations exercise slotted for April 15.

Migori governor Okoth Obado is set to retire after he serves his two terms by next polls.
