Kenya to launch her first 50 electric motorbikes on March 2

Kenya will launch her first electric motorcycle in Nairobi on March.

The launch has been organised by the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP) which said it “will launch the first electric motorcycles pilot project in Kenya at Karura Forest, Nairobi.”

“The purpose of the launch event will be for UNEP to present the 50 electric motorcycles, and the four pilot partners that will pilot these motorcycles in Kenya,” UNEP said in a press invite.. 

The move will see the country switch from gasoline powered motorcycles to ful electric in the future.

The launch will also see unveiling of pilot project partners.

Ms. Joyce Msuya, Deputy Executive Director, UNEP and H.E. Prof. Anyang’ Nyong’o, E.G.H., Governor of Kisumu County among other guests will be at the launch.
