Kisii man in Rongo commits suicide after wife beats him with a cooking stick for being money-less during Christmas

A Kisii man living in Rongo committed suicide after his wife hit him with a cooking stick for not having money during the Christmas festive season.

Joshua Nyakundi, committed suicide after constant squabble with his wife Robi.

The wife said the deceased “has been seeking payment of money from a creditor unsucessfully.”

She said they have been having financial problem at home as the always had nothing to eat.

“I have been telling him to help us start a business venture, but he has refused,” he said.

Joseph Kenyatta, Kanying’omb said they were shocked with the suicide which comes after a similar one where a 16 years old boy also committed suicide.

Their landlady Mama Stacy said the couple constant fight have been revolving around cash.

“When they did not have money, they always fight. With money they were quite and happy. Their fight got worse during this festive season,” Mama Stacy said.

She said the wife always attack the husband with a cooking stick when he came empty handed.

“On the sad day they had a fight and when the wife woke up he found him dangling from a rope,” she said.
