Uriri man, 2 others arrested for death and illegal burial of son over botched circumcision

A father and two other suspects are held at Uriri police station after being arraigned in court over a botched circumcision death of a 12 years old boy

The suspects, Daniel Amufa Asuga, Jackson Majengo Asuga, and Oscar Asuga Mamboleo, appeared before magistrate Peter Areri who instructed they be held for 14 days to help police complete investigations.

State counsel team led by Benson Kimani said the suspects were arrested on November 25, 2020 in connection of the death of Peter Amufa, 12.

“The incident happened on November 19, 2020  at Magongo Village in Uriri sub-County, I hereby swore an affidavit asking the honorable court to grant me fourteen days to do my investigation on the matter,” Said Kimani.

On his affidavit Mr. Kimani stated that the minor who he identified and Peter Amufa the deceased was circumcised using a knife on November 1, 2020 by the suspect before court together with others who are at large

‘The deceased bled profusely without being taken to any medical facility and died on November 19, 2020 and the body was secretly buried at Daniel Amufa home (father) at 2230hour  without burial permit,” said the officer

The court heard that the body was exhumed on November 25, 2020 when the three suspects were arrested.
