A seven years old girl at Obama village in Awendo sub-county was burnt beyond recognition after their house was razed down.
A somber mood has gripped after the nursery school girl was left in the house by her sister who had gone to school at dawn.
A lit lump was left in the house, which is believed to have caused the fire.
The deceased parents are said to have gone to a funeral in the same village.
Awendo police boss Purity Kobia said police allowed the family to bury the infant after a request.
She urged parents to be keen on the safety of their children to avoid similar incidents in the future.
