We will amend to the constitution to save CDF- Kopiyo

MPs will amend the constitution to save Constituency Development Funds from a court ruling that declared them unconstitutionally.

Speaking at a funeral in Serega area Awendo MP Jared Kopiyo said as law makers, they will ensure the decision made by the court can not threaten them.

“I will table a bill that will enable us amend a few sections of the constitution to make the fund relevant constitutionally,” he promised.

Kopiyo said that CDF fund has change the face of Kenya interms of development and they can not afford to lose the fund.

“CDF is doing a better work than even the hug lump of money being pumped to the county government,” he said.

He challenge the county government of Migori to make good use of the billions of money they get from the national government to develop all the eight sub counties equally.

“Migori gets over Sh6Billion and they demands that the county government allocate Sh800Million for each sub county,” he said.

He also said they will audit public accounts starting from the County Government, CDF and finally ward development fund to ensure that the money given to these accounts serves the people of Migori.
