County purchase two Sh7.5m ambulances for Uriri, Rongo

Migori county government have rolled out two ambulances worth 7.5M to Uriri and Rongo sub county hospitals.

The county government has allocated over 600M for the health care services and this will help improve the quality of care in the facility.

While reading the governors speech, executive in charge of Health Elijah Odhiambo promised that the county government will offer more of such services to the people and always working with the people to improve the health sector in the county.

“For the health sector we have done much as a government but I think it is still not adequate as our people expected so we will still try to do our best for the poeple of Migori county”. He said

In the last financial year the county government purchased 2 land crushers and 4double cabin pick up that has so far increased the work efficiency in the health sector.

“We need a system that shall ensure that our pregnant mothers, very sick children and vulnerable who need urgent referral for better care access these services and thus why on top of the vehicles we have , we are giving Rongo and Uriri sub counties the new two ambulances, ” he added.

Also in the governors speech, the county government will recruit more than 100 health workers as this has been a major problem to most of the counties.

“The county government is in the process of recruiting health workers and this will bridge the huge gap that we inherited for efficient service delivery in the county hospitals,” he added.

Elijah also cited various areas where the county government will upgrade the health infrastructure including Migori referral hospital,Awendo and Rongo theaters, Mortuary in Kehancha,Wards in Sori and Ntimaru and face lifting of other dispensaries and health centers.

“We have done much but if we join hands and work together we shall achieve more in the health sector and help Migori county develop,” he advised.
