Tarang’anya butcher kills AP in love triangle

An Administration Police (AP) officer in Kuria West was murdered after a butcher in Tarang’anya area found him with his wife.

Corporal Stephen Bondori allegedly fought with a business man over his wife and succumbed to stab wounds after shooting the suspect, Christopher Nyamahanga Mtundu on the thighs.

Bondori has been nursing injuries at St Joseph Mission hospital after being stabbed during Mashujaa day celebrations.

Kuria West Deputy OCPD, David Kirui said the officer was accompanied by two colleagues and were attacked in the house at 5am.

Kirui said the three officers said they had gone to arrest the suspect over suspicion of smuggling bhang in the country, a claim the suspect denied.

“The suspect was shot in the thighs and claimed in self defence he took a knife and stabbed the officer and injured his tow colleagues,” Kirui said.

Mtundu refuted the reports saying he has been suspecting the deceased was having an affair with his wife of nine years and had severally warned him.

“They came in my house at 2am thinking I was not in. My wife refused to open the door and they came back at 5am to seduce her,” he said.

Kirui said they have already launched investigations to establish what transpired on the day of the incident has the body of the deceased has been moved to St Joseph Mission Mortuary.
