Man found dead at this Kehancha bar after failing to pay Sh450 beer bill

Kuria West sub-county police are still investigating an incident where a reveler at a bar in Kehancha town was found dead after allegedly failing to pay Sh450 bill.

Last Monday, Edgar Omahe, from Kubinto village was locked up in the latrine after he failed to settle a beer bill worth Sh 450.

Witnesses told police the man was tortured after being locked in a pit latrine.

Kuria West OCPD Saiya Barasa said he was found dead the following morning.

“We had information that the man went to the bar on Sunday night, took a few bottles and failed to settle the bill before he was locked up in the latrine. He was found dead in the morning,” said Barasa.

Angry residents have claimed the man was murdered in the same week two deaths shocked the tow.

“We are suspecting that these people are not taking their lives. It is as if they are killed and then the killers disguise the deaths as suicides,” a family member of a man found death behind cereal board said.

“Like in our relative case, the tree he hanged himself on was weak and he was apparently murdered elsewhere,” he said.
