Nominated MP and first Migori woman representative Dennittah Ghatti has been cleared by IEBC to vie in the August 9 polls.

Ghati is making another stab at the post after she was edged out in the 2017 elections by Pamella Odhiambo who has failed to defend her seat after and instead opted to unsuccesfully run for governor.

Addressing the press on Friday afternoon after she was cleared by the Independent Electoral and boundaries Commission (IEBC) the legislator vowed to complete some of the projects that stalled following a grisly accident she got in 2014, that left her incapacitated.

“I was committed to serving the resident of Migori and changing the face of the county in my previous capacity before the ill-fated accident. I am back in good health and ready to complete the task you bestowed on me,” said the ODM candidate.

Ghati face off on ODM ticket against Jubilee candidate Lilian Akugo, Fatuma Mohammed on Independent ticket, journalist Josephine Sirega on Independent ticket and Zilpa Audline on Independent ticket.

The entry of Mrs Hellen Odie, wife to outgoing Migori governor Okoth Obado as an independent candidate has stiffened the completion, putting the ODM candidate on edge.
