The Sony Sugar Company will be shutdown for six weeks from June 7 for routine maintenance,
The company acting Director General Stephen Ligawa said after the move they expect “significant improvement in performance.”
“These repairs were projected to give a life line of 6-8 months- which have since elapsed. AS a result, we have of late experienced frequent and long breakdowns which have adversely affected productions and extension financial performance,” Ligawa said in a memo.
He said the last repairs were done between May and August 2020 and have ran for 9 months since resumption.
He called on stakeholders to support the process.
