Jim Clement, from Nyatike has resigned from the national chair representing youths through this FB post:

Today, the 13th day of March, 2014, I tendered my resignation as the Chairman, National Youth Council, NYC. The duly signed letter of resignation was submitted to the Office of the Principal Secretary, Planning.

I find it utterly superfluous to continue serving as the Chairman of a Council that’s so bereft in adequate resources to serve the needy youths in this country.

Further, the unending sponsored squabbles at the Council’s Board are, at the very worst, utterly demoralizing and at the very best, limiting on my abilities to perform as the Council’s national chairman.

On the face of very direct and indirect threats to my person and the lives of the people close to me, it would be sheer sadism to ignore such direct and/or indirect threats. Being the Chairman of NYC is not and has never been a matter of life and death.

My tenure as the Chairman of the NYC has been an opportunity so humbling and I hereby express my immense gratitude for that opportunity.

For the many youths from across our beloved Nation and from all walks of life, ahsanteni sana for your support.

I remain your committed and humble servant as a the Council’s Board member representing the interests of Nyanza Region.

I also take this earlier opportunity to wish my successor and the entire Board the very best in pushing the agenda of the young people of this country, in order to take our youths to the next level.

Mungu awabariki!!!
