MCA for Waswesta II ward Erickson Omondi aka Bank Otuch Sunday donated football kits across the ward to various youth groups.

Speaking to Migori News, Omondi said he gave out balls and jerseys to teams in all polling stations in his ward.

According to Omondi, this was aimed at improving the sports in his ward in preparation for a grand tournament later in December.

The MCA who was elected on an Independent ticket said the initiative was also aimed at keeping youth busy during holiday and help them escape social ills.

He said he piloted the initiative with male football teams but will in the following event include ladies and there after the elderly.

Bank Otuch Football tournament will take place in December and will draw teams from across Wasweta II ward.

Teams will compete for various prizes with positions one, two and three walking away with grand prizes.

The MCA said he will bring scouts from various teams to recruit players and in turn improve the sports talents among the youth in the ward.
