Rongo youth FC beat Rakwaro FC 3-2 in a post penalty shootouts to clinch the Rongo Sub-County tourney trophy in a stunning final encounter that was played at Rongo show grounds today.

Rongo youth‘s Okiki David, Allan Omondi and Odhiambo Kenneth ensured they converted their kicks with Peter Osicho and Robbert Fletcher giving their side the two goals to finish 2nd in the tourney.

In the semi finals,Rongo youths battered Komito fc 1-0 to qualify for the finals before Rakwaro edging out Kanga FC 1-0.

Komito FC supplanted Kanga FC 4-0 to come thirs with Samo Austine scoring a brace before Omondi Anderson and Adundo ken also registering their names in the score sheet.

Each ward from Rongo sub-county that has four Wards presented a team in the football tourney that was sponsored by Migori women representative Denitah Ghati through the Affirmative Action Social Development Fund (AASDF).

The tourney is aaimed at empowering youths and women to help them realize their dreams alongside identifying and promoting their talents.

The Rongo sub-county women tournament is scheduled to take place later next month and staged in all wards in the eight sub-counties in Migori before the end of this year, the chairman of Rongo Sub-County clubs Association Ouma Paul said.

The winners took home a trophy, Ksh5, 000, a ball and playing kits as the first runners up pocketing 4,000 a trophy with 2nd runners up and the fourth receiving Ksh.3, 000 and 2,000 respectively plus other playing items.
