Many Kurias had enormous expectations the moment Raila’s visit to Kehancha was made public. However, Raila’s visit was reduced to a mere circus of political supremacy battle between Machage and his protégé; Matiko Bohoko.

Of significance is the shock that many of the catholic faithfuls experienced when Machage walked into the church accompanied by the “abagaka ba Nchama” while clinging on to his “magical bakora”. Raila was amazed too.

The clamour came and went but left lots of questions which Raila and his host; Machage will someday answer. The visit ended up being a mere political rally with no much to talk about except the antics of one political loser. Raila score card is really wanting.

The real deal was brokered by the sitting Kuria West Member of parliament; Hon. Mathias Nyamabe Rhobi. A small idea at its inception but an idea meant to catapult the Kuria health service sector to new heights.

The idea is so humongous that it made Obado run to Kehancha a day after his political mentor; Raila left. He now wants to steal the idea and make it his own by channeling the county resources to it, not that Kurias mind but his motives are questionable. Matiko Bohoko being the squealor character of the animal farm novel by George Orwell, may as well present this great accomplishment as his in 2017.

Mathias Robi’s idea of opening a Medical training college in Kuria has aroused an interesting mix of anticipation and apprehension.

To the populace, celebrations are already in their mouths while to his political competitors, the idea needs to be shot down or hijacked all together. Mathias is slowly re-inventing himself and is out to show the Kurias that to be an effective politician, one does not need to be making noise in parliament or issuing hate speeches in political rallies.

Just like the way he sneaked into elective politics incognito and made it to parliament in his first attempt, this gentleman is out to give Kuria what it greatly needs. Just in case you are wondering at the kind of benefits that Kuria is likely to derive from this, here is the breakdown.

Kehancha district hospital is one of the county hospitals that was ear-marked for an upgrade and installation of the state of the art medical equipment by his Excellency Uhuru Kenyatta’s government. For the hospital to function well then trained manpower is needed; the MTC will attract and train enough people to serve our people adequately.

Many nurses from Kuria will get an opportunity to upgrade their skills and excellence at a cheaper price. They can go work and over the weekends attend classes without the hustles of where to put up.

Employment opportunity; There will be unskilled job opportunities to our people. Infrastructural development that always comes along such ventures is likely to be realized.

With these and so many benefits not mentioned here, a Kuria politician seems to be getting his responsibilities right. Unlike his predecessors, he has acted in utmost good faith by taking the facility where it is supposed to be.

Others will have taken this initiative to their home areas. You remember the hardship allowance?
