Our attention has been drawn to the media reports that the Rt Hon Raila tour to meet ODM PARTY Migori county grass root officials was poorly organized and wish to clarify as follows :-

1. The Rt Hon Raila was scheduled to land with a chopper at Uriri sub county to attend the burial of Omamba’s sons at 11am and leave at 1pm for a closed door consultative meeting at Green Stadium, Awendo at 2.30 pm to 4.30 pm thereafter address the crowd at Awendo bus Park . However this did not go on as planned due to the bad weather that delayed the PM’s take off from Nairobi.

2.The closed door consultative meeting was strictly for the selected party officials that is 6 per sub county , there was no PA system that was required. Everything that dealt with the crowd was prepared at Awendo Bus Park.

3. The PM Rt Hon Raila requested to meet the delegates at Sony Guest house but due to the limited space at the Guest House he was advised to proceed to Green Stadium where he requested the officials to allow him postpone the meeting to a later date because of the time constraints. The crowd was therefore let in the stadium.

The allegations that the meeting was poorly planned are therefore far fetched and are meant to hoodwink the public for certain individuals interests.
