Hello His Excellency Governor Okoth Obado,

Let me start by sincerely sending my greetings to you and also give you thumbs up for the very many development projects your government has so far initiated in Migori County.

During your recent visit to Ramogi studio where you were interviewed at length by Charles Odhiambo, you very well explained into details the development projects your government either started or completed and so articulately outlined what your government intends to do this financial year and beyond.

Though I am your supporter and people might mistake me for being your mouth piece, I must admit for a fact that your plans and development strategies are good and well above board.

Your intention to construct a road from Uriri town through Rapogi Centre all the way to Riat Sukari Industry in Ndhiwa constituency was very noble and I do concur with you fully that the road will linking two counties and open wide the basket of economic goodies to the residents of Migori county.

When i recently went home on a fact finding mission, i saw an amazing road construction work going on in Uriri constituency with the road being tarmacked as you said during the interview.

I salute you for this fulfilled promise and a host of others so far realized.

The Migori County Dairy Project, hatcheries projects, the very many water projects across the county and many others, in deed Migori County is treading on the right development path and as i salute you for the job well done, I also wish to urge my fellow County men and women alike to join me in giving credit where it is deserved.

Having given you credit for your good work, I would also and very kindly bring you up to speed on a few things your government and you as an individual needs to pull your socks on, precisely on matters relating to my people in Nyatike constituency.

Just allow me number them as follows-:

1. MUSHROOMING MINING COMPANIES IN NYATIKE CONSTITUENCY MORE SPECIFICALLY SEME VILLAGE

During our last meeting with you here in Nairobi at the ABC Plaza in Westland’s, as the chair, i very candidly explained to you the genuine concerns of the SEME residents ,about the mushrooming mining companies being set up in villages across Macalder Kanyarwanda ward by people of Somali origin with no regards to the rule of law.

Of more concern to us was the impunity by which these so called factories are operating coupled with the fact that they use a very dangerous chemical known as cyanide in extracting gold while leaving the dangerous
wastes to flow directly into our nearby water pans thereby endangering the lives of our people.

Your response was to marshal your county apparatus and act immediately by closing down those illegal factories something you have not done until now. Your deafening silence on this issue speaks volumes and we as Seme people in Nyatike and the entire Constituency thinks your county government is pulling an NYS equivalent through corrupt county officials. Answers by way of actions seriously needed.

2. DEVELOPMENT PROJECTS OR PROGRAMMES FOR THE MACALDER KANYARWANDA WARD PEOPLE PRECISELY SOUTH EAST INCLUDING SEME VILLAGE

You and I know well that the mentioned electoral ward has not benefitted from your government compared to the rest despite having overwhelmingly voted for you.

This region weathered so many storms during the 2013 elections and voted you as their governor. As the chair, I was mandated to speak to you about the poor infrastructure of the said region in your county.

I mentioned to you about the road network they want improved and also named to you the specific roads they wanted your government to open and properly gravel.

I also mentioned to you some three or more center’s that they wanted your government and you specifically as the president of the county to facilitate the acquisition of transformers with a view of lighting up those center’s to help boost the economy and living standards of the residents through doing business.

We very well know that some of these are National government responsibilities with some falling under county and CDF but you as the president of the county do have the capacity to do what the county does and facilitate for those offered by the National government. Your government and you have gone mute despite promising us heaven during the meeting.

3. GOD KWACH SECONDARY SCHOOL HARAMBEE AND ITS AFTERMATH

We, the Seme Magawa Community whose school in the name of God Kwach secondary school was being fundraised for are not happy at your advisers with regards to what transpired at the Harambee venue.

Coming to Harambee organized by your opponent and hijacking the process was not in order. The insistence by your perceived advisers that you attend and hijack your opponents Harambee in my view, if you ask me, was an act of cowardice. Nyatike is your region, Macalder Kanyarwanda Ward is still dancing to your tune but what transpired during the Harambee Bwana governor, if I may tell you the truth, only gave your opponent Hon. Ochillo Ayacko more mileage.

My advice to you my friend is to know your campaign advisers so well as some of them may be informers planted by your opponents to misadvise you for the benefit of your opponents.

Also try to separate the wheat from the Chaff as those you think are your reliable opinion leaders in each region could be only in business and making money while the sun shines but will dump you at the opportune time.

Had it been that you sought the advice of well- intentioned SEME leaders and not those marauding hyenas surrounding you, you wouldn’t have gone through all that at GOD KWACH SECONDARY. You must come back and make amends with the people of SEME MAGAWA and the entire Nyatike constituents.

4. THE ALLEGATIONS THAT YOU WROTE A LETTER TO THE EMPLOYER OF TWO SONS OF SEME VILLAGE TO BE DISMISSED FROM SERVICE.

My friend Hon. Okoth Obado, I am very much aware that you know ELLY DURO (PATRON) from Seme village in person. There are speculative rumors doing round in and around Macalder Kanyarwanda ward more specifically SEME MAGAWA that you, the governor, after the fracas at God Kwach secondary school Harambee where the Hon. Ochillo Ayacko your competitor was the chief guest, having seen the role ELLY DURO played, decided to have a born to chew with him and vowed to ensure that he is sacked.

My governor, I may not know the veracity of these allegations but if it is true that you or maybe your loyalist did that to the poor young man whose only fault was to invite guest for a harambee in aid of the school, as much as I doubt this, then it is so unfortunate. Our sons and daughters did a lot for you and just to mention but a few, hope you still remember John Aloo from SEME who was to be your running mate but was prevailed upon to step down with a promise of a county job which to date, he hasn’t got.

Walter Oguda even camped at your home and went round protecting your votes and he was indeed your contact person at Sori town vote tallying center. You promised him a job that never was.

NAPHTALY OKUKU OGOYE and I were there during your times of need and you still remember that very well, thank GOD. Nothing has happened only empty promises. We still love you and adore you, have you in our hearts as our leader and will still vote for you but this one, writing letters to the employers of our sons to be dismissed is surely a blow below the belt bwana governor.

I want to be frank with you as your supporter, friend and OKEWA in dholuo, please this rumor that you wanted ELLY DURO fired is a dangerous fire consuming your votes right within your swing vote region at a faster rate and in politics, things do change and without you noticing.

My advice to you is to make amends with KANEYI, we are bitter with how you treat us especially on matters appointment and development.

5. NOT PICKING CALLS

Bwana governor, ill only drop a one line here, please, please, please, pick calls just like you use to do during 2013 campaigns. Pick calls and always have somebody to notify you of the calls that came through during which time you were busy.

I know you are a busy person.

Hope our meeting with you in Nairobi still stands.

NB/ There is this proverb that says… The buttocks are like a married couple though there is constant friction between them, they will still love and live together.

I add by telling you that even though there are little frictions between us SEME people and you owing to what happened at God Kwach, we still have you as our governor.

Politicians and votes are siblings who must live together despite what one thinks.
