President Uhuru Kenyatta is set to make another visit to Nyanza region despite the heckling that occurred in Migori during his last visit.

The Director of Political Affairs in the office of the President Joshua Kutuny says the President will make another visit in the region soon to launch some of the projects that he cut short after the heckling.

Kutuny says the heckling that occurred in Migori when the President visited the area was unfortunate and meant to stifle development in the region.

“Even if people heckle, the President will still visit Kisumu, and we are laying plans for him to visit, we still want to give title deeds as government, there are plans to open a college there,” he said.

He says the Head of State should be given respect he deserves and urged leaders to shelve their political differences for development

He urged residents of Nyanza region to be tolerant and accommodative for development to spur growth in the region.

On September 8 Migori Governor Okoth Obado was shouted down by area residents at a function attended by President Uhuru Kenyatta.

He was heckled and shoes thrown towards the presidential dais forcing the President to intervene.

President Kenyatta said he would make sure that he tours all parts of the country despite the political affiliation, race or tribe in the areas as stipulated in the Constitution.

Earlier, Youths in Kisumu urged President Uhuru Kenyatta to visit the city and listen to challenges affecting the locals.

The Kisumu Youth and Business Community Association said President Kenyatta should visit the region and interact with the local youths saying they feel neglected by the Jubilee government.
