Migori governor Okoth Obado is giving ODM party and candidate Ochillo Ayacko sleepless nights despite sleeping at Industrial Area prison.

Obado’s long shadow has taken center stage in the October 8 senator by elections, the same day he will appear at Milimani Law courts for ruling on his bail.

Obado, his two PAs Caspal Obiero and Michael Oyamo have been charged with the murder of his pregnant girlfriend Sharon Otieno.

Both have denied the charges and are held by government.

The beleaguered governor is also facing EACC probe over mismanagement of Sh2.5billion under his administrations.

ODM leaders led by their Secretary General Edwin Sifuna have been dragging Obado’s name in their campaigns denying being behind his woes.

Sifuna said the governor went outside the party and is facing criminal charges against the state, and not ODM party.

“We are in Migori to seek votes for our party and not steal people’s wives and create funerals. Raila has never sent anybody to commit a crime,” Sifuna said.

He said no ODM official have been told to write a statement over woes facing Obado which is far-fetched plan to seek sympathy votes.

Obado, before being arrested, was supporting Federal Party of Kenya candidate Eddy Oketch.
