President-elect William Ruto has continue to tighten his grip on power by swallowing in the United Democratic Movement (UDM) to his side.

Before elections, UDM was under Azimio wing and the move is set to weaken Raila Odinga further both in governor council, senate and national assembly.

Ruto received UDM Party Leader and Mandera Senator-Elect Ali Roba and Deputy Party Leader and Marsabit Governor-Elect Mohamud Ali.

He also received a bonus in Mandera Governor-Elect Mohamed Adan Khalif during a meeting at his Karen residence.

Others were Deputy Governor-Elect Mandera Ali Maalim and Wajir Senator-Elect Abbas Sheikh.

During the meeting, Ruto also bagged several MPs: Umulkheir Kassim (Mandera), Bashir Abdullahi (Mandera North), Kullow Hassan (Banisa), Joseph Lekuton (Laisamis), Mangale Munga Chiforomodo (Lunga Lunga), AbdulEnrahim Haro (Mandera South) and Adan Haji (Mandera West).

The move will boost Ruto in control of politics in North Eastern region and cut Raila into size as he plans to move to Supreme Court to challenge last week elections.

This will go along way in case of a re-run.
