(PHOTOS) Anti MP Kaluma demos rock Homa Bay Town constituency over ODM ticket rumours

The move by Orange Democratic Movement party to offer direct has been rocked by first demonstrations in Homa Bay Town.

Angry voters lit up bonfires using tyres, used boulders to block roads and engaged police in running battles.

The demos were against report that the party had given Homa Bay Town MP Peter Kaluma a direct ticket.

ODM has been using opinion polls given to aspirants in a guise to offer direct tickets and avoid universal suffrage.

In the constituency, the party claimed Kaluma was ahead of other aspirants by 49%.

Others were Misare at 18%, Obach at 15% and others shared among themselves 18%.

Demonstrators disputed the data.
