Operations in Migori town went into a standstill as youths and ODM members demonstrated against arrested of opposition leaders.

The demonstrations started after social media was awash with news and video of arrest of Suna East MP Junet Mohammed.

Earlier Machakos senator Johnston Muthama and Kitutu Masaba Timothy Bosire were placed under house arrest,

The busy Kisii-Isebania road was completely closed to the busy road connecting Kenya to Tanzania.

Charged residents bought a coffin and took it to Migori Referral Hospital mortuary where they said they took Gatundu South MP Moses
Kuria.

They said they will take the coffin for burial once Kuria is arrested and charged in court of law.

“We have given them (the government) time to release our MP or else we will proceed with our burial plans of Moses Kuria,” Eric Opany, ODM
Migori youth chair said.
