Politics temperature in South Nyanza region have been thrown into a spin after the Migori county branch of Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) party threw out Rongo MP Dalmas Otieno.
The branch unanimously agreed to throw out the rebel legislator after the Rongo sub-branch secretary George Obuya wrote a letter which started the process of kicking Dalmas out.
Obuya wrote the letter after sub-branch officials also reached at the decision to remove the legislator after he said he was ready to quit the party and form his own vehicle to vie for the country’s presidencty in next general elections.
“We received the letter on Monday and had an impromptu meeting at the county level to endorse the Rongo’s stance,” Joseph Olala, county secretary to Migori News.
Olala said that the branch wrote a letter to Orange House for further disciplinary action to be taken against Dalmas.
“Already we have written to the Orange House and forwarded our official request to have him thrown out and all action will remain with them,” Olala said.
This means that Dalmas has been stripped of his executive membership at county level and is no longer a delegate of the party.
The move has created mix reaction and heated debate over the future of Dalmas in national and South Nyanza politics.
Nyanza ODM party coordinator Ochieng Ruku, political activist Joseph Onyango Ngare and Rongo Organizing Secretary Osinda Mito defended the legislator who they said wasn’t behind the party’s wrangles.
Ruku said ODM was a national party that represented all people and that it had a democratic space where people with divergent opinions can be accommodated.
Earlier Dalmas had said he was ready to quit the orange party by legalizing his ‘Kalausi” party.
He said he was ready to vie for the presidency and stands an equal chance with former Prime Minister Raila Odinga to clinch the country top seat.

Raila has a chance to become the president of the republic of Kenya,i so wish infact if wishes were horses,he can lead this country for 100 years,however,with you people around Raila,he will not wacheni kujifanya,give Dalmas breathing space,let him practice his political right wacha kumsukuma kwa ukuta,ODM is nothing without the support of Wananchi,same way you hypocrites can never be ODM deligates without wananchi electing you to those duties.Same guys u claim that Jubilee waliiba kura yet ni nyinyi ndo mlishindwa kulinda kura ya baba both at poling station na at bomas of kenya.Your wives do not even have ID cards,your children are not even interested to get ID en even if they have they don’t have voters registration cards,other tribes wakonayo even a class 8 wanachukua yet u go on scatering votes,remember Dalmas has many supporters dats y he was elected en by that act he will go with his supporters.Why do you behave as if a good life depend on ODM?
Dalmas should be sent away from the county. We cannot follow a blind man like him.
ODM has been weakened and almost wrecked by the proponents of radical divergent views. When you are in a political party you become part of it and party to its decisions. But when Dalmas talks of Kalausi in ODM he is in actual sense saying he doesn’t belong to it. Ruku should understand what tolerating divergent views in a political party actually is.

you people get serous , what will ODM party help you with ? can you be able to concentrate on developments that the said member has contributed to Rongo sub county which can not be compared to any other sub county in the whole migori countty

The Kangeso man only wants to divide the luo votes to block baba from power as he fulfills his initial say that luos can not lead.So let the big fishes in ODM play it cool bcoz we need even his vote live alone even his suppoters to achieve our goal.
there is nothing to celebrate,the party I’d headed with people without any vision except champion their interests by singing the same song,no agenda for the people.these people continue to mislead yet it’s clear they are only using the former pm to achieve their goal and not help him win anything

No MP in south nyanza is as hardworking OTIENO ANYANGO, He started being a gvt figure in 1980s yet you still vot him in, that means that his work is excellent. Other leaders only reign for one term even with a lot of difficulties & are elected any more. So plz take care

ODM is master of failure coz the official like themselves and mostly operations they do in darkness hence result are always negative.

Development minded Dalmas Otieno, will always be a strong pillar in Migori County, and to the proponents, whether you call them branch ODM leaders or ……… better tell us your development plans for Migori county, rather than empty rhetorics. We like the party ODM, it’s our party, but remember development comes first.
