#KIBRADECIDES POLL: Imran to win by 41 per cent, Mariga comes second

The ODM party is sure to win in leader Raila Odinga’s Kibra ‘bedroom’ with a comfortable win according to a recent opinion poll.

The party candidate Imran Okoth, and the brother of former legislators Ken Okoth will win the Thursday by-election by gaining 41 per cent of votes cast.

The Consortium of Researchers on Governance (CoRG) carried out a tracking poll in the constituency which .placed Jubilee Party candidate McDonald Mariga second with 27 per cent while ANC’s and former Raila’s aide Raila Odinga getting 18 per cent.

Other twenty candidates in the poll will share 6 per cent among themselves with 7 per cent of voters in Kibra being undecided.

According to CoRG research, they carried the “self-funded tracking  survey between September 27 and October 24 2019.

The survey was  “to access attitudinal and behavioral changes of voters in Kibra cosntiuiecy ahead of forthcoming by-elections,”

It was done in Woodley/Racecourse, Makina, Saran’gombe, Laini Saba and Lindi wards with an initial target of 500 respondents targeted with only 402 interviewed through face-to-face questions.

Voters reached said education and access to bursary was their major concern followed by unemployment and better road access.
