Junet Mohammed, the Suna East MP has said his constituents were not stupid to vote him and he has brought enough development within a year.

Junet said his competitors main agenda is buying alcohol in Migori town pubs and attacking on the basis as the first Somali legislator in Luo Nyanza.

“Jotelo maparo ni biro gola kagi nyiew kong’o Migori ni gidwa bedo mijumbe nikech an oria biro dong’ e debe (Leaders who think can remove me through buyinh alcohol and attacking my tribe will flop in coming polls)” he
cautioned.

Junet challenged the leaders to initiate any development project or organize a major harambee instead of cheap politics.

He said ever since he has been elected the use of CDF kitty has been transparent through having bursary and development committees in sub-locations and schools.

“Our bursary was the best and if CDF committee wants to build a project in a school the cheque is directly given to the school committee which will decide what to do, unlike in the former committee where schools only had contractors to deal with,” Junet said.

The legislator said that his constituents voted wisely to choose him and he will ensure he left a legacy in the constituency.

“Adwa ni jopiny one lokrouk kane oria otiyo e bunge nokelonwa dongrouk (I want my constituents to see development change during my tenure),” he said.

He said his development record has been outstanding especially on the use of constituency kitty and said God will see him through come next elections.

“God is the one who chose leaders and I believe he will see me through as he was with me when I was a councilor and mayor,” he said.

He also chided leaders who have been complaining that he has been too vocal on the press and close to Cord leader Raila Odinga.

“We have legislators who are only seen on national TV during debates as they go to the toilet. I believe a legislator should be vocal defender of his party and ideology in any platform,” he said.
