Central Sakwa MCA and former assembly majority leader Johnson Owiro has said the First lady Margeret Kenyatta will not tour Migori town in her visit next Wednesday after the infamous incident when shoes were thrown at presidential dias.

Owiro said after a consultative meeting with five county leaders and governor Okoth Obado they agreed Kenyatta will be hosted at Awendo and will not reach Migori town.

In a meeting of top county officials with the first lady, organisers planned for the launch of the mobile clinic at a more secure Sony Guest House in Awendo.

During a CDF meeting last Friday, the MCA said the move was to avoid a repeat of an incident where angry youths threw shoes at governor Okoth Obado during a visit by President Uhuru Kenyatta.

“We have a successful meeting an agreed the first lady meeting in the county will be hosted in my ward at Awendo town,” he said.

He said they settled on Awendo to avoid Migori town where people are more prone to throwing shoes ad stones.

“First lady was supposed to come to Migori town and in the meeting we agreed she won’t pass Awendo because in Migori town they know how to throw shows,” he said.

Preparations for the meeting is on top gear with Kenyatta expected to donate mobile clinics to help expectant mothers to have safe deliveries.
