Anyanga: I wasn’t involved in #MigoriChaos

Nyatike MP Omondi Anyanga has denied he was behind the chaos that rocked a Presidential function.

And the Head of State yesterday told off politicians who organised the heckling.

President Uhuru Kenyatta on Monday cut short his function after youths heckled Migori Governor Okoth Obado.

“I do not want to comment on allegations. Those claiming that I sent money should tell you the Mpesa reference number and the dates when it’s alleged I sent the money.

Said Anyanga yesterday, “I have checked all my records and there is nowhere I sent money to anyone for the purpose of causing chaos in Migori”.

Police in Migori and Nairobi have been probing the telephone records of an unnamed MP who is reported to have sent Sh60,000 to some people now in custody as a result of the rowdy behavior on Monday.

Anyanga also said reports posted online that he has been arrested was unfounded and used to tarnish his name.

It has emerged that the function which was organized by Gov Okoth Obado, Anyanga’s arch rival, was out to tarnish his name and Suna East MP Junet Mohammed as the two were never included in the program.

Even after taking part in State House meeting, Obado who was given money by the president to facilitate the function chose to exclude the MP from the program.

He ensured that Anyanga was given a secluded seat behind dignitaries and was only called upon to try and calm rowdy youths when they started heckling Obado.
