Awendo MP Walter Owino has ruffled political feathers of his rival, bishop Peter Midodo by repeating remarks of seeking for him State House chaplain job.

Owino called on Midodo again to step down from the race as he was going to embarrass him at the ballot and they should work together to ensure ODM leader Raila Odinga is in State House.

“Bishop should rest i have booked him a Chaplain timetable at State House to be preaching twice a week,” Walter said.

Walter said with  political temperature rising  during this electioneering period  the clergy should remain in churches and pray for the nation.

“Its the time that the clergy should be at the synagogue praying for our nation not on the podium  throwing words at us,” he added.

He went a head stating that the salary the bishop will be earning in two sessions is  enough for his six months salary.

He went a head stating that the salary the bishop will be earning in two sessions is  enough for his six months salary.

“I have booked for him for the whole five years and only two session’s salary is over his six months salary,” Owino joked.

But in a quick rejoinder Midodo who is vying as an independent candidate told off his ODM rival saying he was afraid of him in the ballot.

Midodo joked that he could have remained in church and pray for leaders, but sadly same leaders do not believe in prayers.

“Our God is a political God, let the clergy come out and contest for these political seats,” the Bishop claimed.

Midodo said saving Awendo voters from bad leadership was a bigger calling than being a State House chaplain.

“I heard Owino saying that he has secured a job for me and even assigned for me a timetable that will go and pray there twice a week,” said the Bishop.

“He even said that am going to earn a salary equivalent to a six month salary. I am telling him am not looking for a job or food,” added the Bishop.
