Migori Deputy Speaker Hon. George Okinyi Omamba has been effectively impeached after members unanimously supported a motion by Kaler MCA Thomas Akungo.

Omamba refused to defend himself over allegations of being arrogant, placing welfare of members and staff at risk and using his office to seek undue favours from executive and assembly.

Only member who supported him, nominated MCA Hon. Rosemary walked out and refused to take part in voting.

Only two members Hon. Ken Ouma (Awendo) and Hon. Alex Akugo (Central Kanyamkago) abstained from voting.

Omamba must remain: 0
