Residents of Uriri will from Monday start receiving the constituency bursaries they had applied for, Uriri MP Mark Nyamita has said.

Nyamita said the disbursement had taken long because of all the forms had to undergo thorough vetting and verification to ensure everyone benefits.

“I am aware that there have been complains over the delay but I said it better delay but we try and do it in the best way we can,” Nyamita said.

To ensure transparency, the MP said he will lead the disbursement exercise that will take place at the sub-location level.

The MP said this will help him address issues, some of which had emerged during the vetting process at various polling centers.

He said he will share his list with various MCA’s and those who will not have benefited from the constituency bursary will be considered by the MCA kitty.

“But we have done thorough vetting to ensure that there is no form of discrimination,” the MP said

The disbursement will begin in East and South Kanyamkago wards on Monday.
