President William Ruto will continue to work with Nyanza region despite maandamano organized by opposition leader Raila Odinga, local leaders have said.

Cabinet Secretary for ICT and Digital Economy Eliud Owalo said Odinga maandamano will not stop the region and Kenyans from benefiting from government projects and appointments.

“Politics is over until next general elections and as Kenya Kwanza we are done with politics and we have development agenda to all Kenyans despite the way they voted in the last elections,” Owalo said.

He said they will continue to work with Ruto and include Nyanza and all regions because the government was done with politics.

He said Ruto has already launched multi-billion projects in the region and made several appointments despite Odinga continued maandamano.

He was speaking at Nyarongi village in Suna East constituency when he distributed 300 bags of rice and 250 bags of beans to villagers.

Leaders who attended the meeting were Chief Administrative Secretary Nicholas Gumbo, Nuclear Board Chairman Edick Anyanga and local politicians Odiso Ogenga, Elijah Odhiambo and former Migori MP John Pesa among others.

“We only have one president in Kenya until next elections, and talks of opening of servers and telling Kenyans to wear empty sufurias on their head will yield nothing,” Anyanga said.

“We thank Ruto for several appointments in Nyanza region he has shown that he wants to work with Luos and we will move closer to him,” Gumbo said.

Ogenga said it was sad that Raila has chosen to call for servers to be opened only on presidential ballot and not others.

“We can’t have a leader who only condemn the president out of six other posts Kenyans voted for, these demonstrations have been interfering with the school programs in our areas,” he said.
