With only days to the kickoff of next term, a madam teacher from Rongo sub-county committed suicide after thieves stole her 20 layers chicken.

Nyarach Primary School community and Rongo residents were in shock when the body of Ruth Muga was found dangling from a rope tied around her neck at her poultry house, in her compound.

Workers at her farm said Muga had been stressed after thieves stole 20 layers from one of her poultry farm and only left seven birds behind.

“They were stolen in Christmas eve and ever since she has been stressed despite her husband, a secondary school teacher, telling her to move on,” a worker said.

Rongo police boss Jonathan Kisaka said the woman left and told her family to prepare supper before she committed suicide.

“She did not leave a suicide note, the body has been taken to Rapcom Mortuary in Rongo town for further investigations,” Kisaka said.
