Migori police are investigating eight Rapogi High School students suspected to be behind Monday night fire that completely burnt down a dormitory.

Good worth over Sh6m went up in flames as over 195 students at the school spent a night in the cold during the 8:30pm incident.

Principal Maurice Otunga confirmed that the eight were picked out by fellows students in internal investigations and their names taken to police.

More names, which may include teachers and other staff are expected to come up after county police boss Joseph Nthenge confirmed that they have started investigations.

Police have started recording statements over the incident.

“No student was hurt during the outbreak, we have narrowed down to eight students after internal investigations over the cause of fire, we are liaising with police to help in further investigations,” Otunga said.
