Pamela declares governor interest to replace Obado after BBI scraps WR seat

Migori Woman Representative Pamela Odhiambo has confirmed she will seek to replace Okoth Obado as the next Migori CEO in 2022 general elections.

Odhiambo’s move come after the Building Bridges Initiative proposed to scrap off the seat in constitutional change.

In last polls, the former university don unseated Dennitah Ghati who is now nominated by the ODM party in the national assemblt to represent people living with disability.

 “I want to say it clearly and for the record, I have the governor seat ahead of me which I will follow directly. I will vie to be the governor,” Odhiambo said.

In a crowded race to replace Obado, Odhiambo is the only woman aspirant.

The BBI report proposes the Senate will be composed of one man and one woman elected in each of the 47 counties and a governor aspirant to pick a deputy from the other gender.
