Over 50 exhibitor’s are set to grace the Migori County Agricultural Society of Kenya show which will kick off on Thursday.

Talking to Migori News in his office, the show chairman George Omune said the three day event will create a chance for the farmers to learn new farming technologies that will make them improve their farm produce.

“We have made a breakthrough as this year we attracted more than 50 exhibitors as opposed only 30 last year,” Omune said

“We call upon all the interested participants from Tanzania and also neighbouring counties of Kisii,Narok,Nyamira and Homa Bay to learn showcase their goods and services,”he added.

he said the key component of the show will be to deal with fall armyworms sby educating framers.

Benson Nyakundi, the SeedCo Company Nyanza Regional manager revealed that the company has some maize varieties of SC Duma and Sc Sungura that are fast maturing and could be the best solution to curb food shortage in the country.

He said maize farmers visiting the show will learn more about the two maize varieties which does well in Nyanza and lakeside region.

“Sc Duma and Sc Sungura maize seeds varieties are disease resistant and have the ability for early maturity,” Nyakundi added.

He called on the farmers both in the county and from other places to come to the show to learn new farming technologies as a way of boosting food security in the country.
