The protracted ODM party wrangles pitting Migori governor Okoth Obado and Nyatike MP Edick Anyanga was brought to end last week when warring factions chose to unite.

The wrangles followed the September 2015 party grass root elections led by elected chairman George Machira and his nemesis Nyambori Inda who was supporting governor Obado.

Speaking in Sori town after Cord leader Raila Odinga made an impromptu voter registration stop over Inda said he has chosen to work with Anyanga and the team in office to ensure the constituency gets represented in the county government after August 8 polls.

“We are ready to work together and we have buried our differences which have been used by politicians outside Nyatike to cause division,” Inda said.

Inda said the division has been used to curtail voter registration drive and the orange party in the constituency by rivals which may cost Raila Odinga the August 8 polls presidential elections.

Nyatike deputy ODM chairman William Odhil said the division has been used to fuel youth violence in the area and dim their chances at county politics by creating an image of disunity.

“We have agreed to throw our weight behind governor aspirant Anne Omodho Anyanga, Women Representatives Fatuma Mohammed and Pamela Odhiambo, and senator aspirant Otieno Ogolla from Nyatike as a group,” Odhil said.

He added that Nyatike has numbers by being the most populous constituency in the county which should shape the county politics.
