Kuria West MP Mathias Robi has said last Sunday tour by Cord leader Raila Odinga in Kuria area was just a “political tourism” which will not yield votes in 2017.

Robi insisted that Kuria was a jubilee vote zone and urged Raila’s handlers led by Senator Wilfred Machage to organise a funds drive instead of rallies.

“When Raila came to Kuria he did not leave any development behind, but political tourism talk. Next time he should leave Kuria West away from his tours,” he said.

He added: “Raila is a political tourist who only toured Kuria and went away without any tangible development left behind. Next time he should come for any development project, even a church Harambee instead of rallies.”

He was speaking on Monday at Kubweye Primary School when he launched several CDF funded projects to 12 institutions worth Sh12.5million.

“We have been benefitting a lot under Jubilee through new and fast tracked tarmacking of roads. Two education institutions and employment slots,” he said.

He insisted “Sisi kama Wakuria tumechoka na siasa ya mdomo bila Maendeleo, Raila angekuja Harambee tungefika (We in Kuria we are tired of politics of words without any development, Raila should come for a funds drive).”

Robi is the URP MP and right hand man of Deputy President William Ruto in Nyanza region
