In an open move of looting tax payers money, five Migori MCAs piad themselves irregularly Sh3.6million from a trip to Netherlands.
The five attended the 12 days workshop titled ‘European Conference on Child Abuse and Neglect Conference’ but extended by 10 more days to get the allowances illegally.
The corruption deal has been unearthed by the Auditor General report on the financial report of Migori County Assembly between July 1, 2013 to June 30, 2014.
The report also found during the same year MCAs made foreign trips to Rwanda, Uganda and Canada which brought no value to Migori county residents.
“The overpaid on the Netherlands trip should be recovered from the affected officers,” the report said.
The report recommends all officers who made the trips and cannot account for them to pay the money back.
The report also said a trip by MCAs to Ugandan, Rwanda and Canada were irrelevant and never added value to county residents.
