Joy erupted at Kibuon Mixed Secondary School in Nyatike constituency as residents celebrated the school taking 15 students directly to university for the first time.

The school is fully funded by the CDF kitty through area MP Edick Anyanga and has key in ensuring those who dropped out of school before a chance for education.

Kennedy Achuodho Adero, the school’s principal said the school benefitted on strict examination.

“Before the school came up students dropped out of school due to long distance to get access this saw fishermen, gold diggers and married people coming back to complete their education,” Adero said.

Among them is Daniel Otieno Ogono, 23 who got a B plain after he resumed studies from fishing at Lwanda Konyango beach.

His colleague Samson Okello Chawache, 42, got a C plus after leaving his four children and a wife to resume studies.

“We got bulk of support from bursary payment by the CDF kitty,” they said.
