The race to ensure ODM forms the next Migori county government is shaping up as two top governor aspirants Anne Anyanga and Ochillo Ayacko campaigned in the Nyatike and Awendo strongholds respectively.

The seek to mitigate against fallout of ODM primaries in their strongholds ahead of seeking voters in other areas ahead of full fledged campaigns.

Anne meet her campaign team and had a series of meetings in four wards of Nyatike from Thursday to shore up support to the most vote rich constituency in the county (At over 50,000).

She said last time she was sure of becoming the governor before she ended up as deputy of Edward Oyugi under the ODM ticket.

“Forget the rumours this time round I will not be anybody’s deputy as I seek to ensure I fully form the next county government,” she said in Sori.

Former Rongo MP (which included his Awendo home turf) Ayacko met boda boda operators in Rongo town to boost his chances on Saturday.

In last election Ochillo’s supported Walter Sirawa who clinched the ODM ticket in Awendo but was defeated by Awendo MP Jared Kopiyo after shambolic primaries in the orange party.

In Nyatike only one MCA, Gogo Eric from Macalder Kanyarwanda won in ODM out of seven wards.
