Shock has gripped students at Jangoye Secondary School in Nyatike sub-county after their colleague in form three committed suicide using a necktie in class during evening preps.

Police in Nyatike have launched investigations over the death of Daniel Okoth Okello.

Area OCPD Dishon Chebaka said the deceased was found hanging in the class by fellow learners’ yesterday night.

Chebaka said the learners who went to student for their evening studies in the class when they bump on the body of the student.

“We are yet to establish the cause of death and have interrogated many people including the parents to get a glimpse of what could have compelled him to commit suicide,” he said.

He said the body of the learner was moved to Migori level four hospital mortuary waiting for autopsy.
