Hundreds of youths and women from Rapogi area in Uriri constituency have given their support to Prof Edward Oyugi and his running mate Anne Omodho Anyanga a boost.

The youths said they had agreed to give their support to #TeamProf as the preferred candidates to help push Migori county forward in development.

Lead by Pinto Onyango, a youth leader the group said they look forward to working with the team in Uriri constituency to ensure they get development opportunity.

The move is significant as the youths come from the same area as the current governor Okoth Obado with the Supreme Court set to give their ruling on appeal case by Obado after his election was nullified by Court of Appeal.

“We have been in devolution for one full financial year and we are yet to get benefits as youths in job and business opportunities in the county,” Pinto said.

Pinto added that there have been widespread unemployment in Migori county which is yet to be addressed by elected leaders.

“We seek to offer our support to Prof Oyugi and his running mate to help us push the development agenda in Migori,” Pinto said.

The youths were addressing journalists in Uriri town yesterday where they called for calm ahead of the court ruling next week.
