Bishop Abisai calls for quality college syllabus

Technical institutions in the country have been urged to structure their curriculum to augur well with current job market.

Learning institutions have been urged to should concentrate in units about entrepreneurship, lobbying and proposal writing, a move that will enhance job creation opportunity for the skilled youths.

Speaking during the first graduation in Ngirisu Youth Polytechnic in Tagare ,Migori county, Bishop John Abisai of the Maranatha Church called upon the residents to register their students in the colleges.

“Residents should not look down upon local institutions but instead support them by registering their youths with the Polytechnic,” he said.

Echoing his statement Tagare MCA Nicholas Ngabia challenged graduates to be ready to create jobs instead of waiting for the government to employ them.

He also addressed some of the challenges faced by the institution and the community at large pledging to woo all support for the instution not only from the county government but also from other well wishers.

“We still dont have electricity in the institution but rest assured am holding talks with the Kenya Power and soon we will enjoy full power supply not only in the institution but in the entire ward, alongside that bursary will be offered to our needy students in our ward,” he said.

A total of 66 students graduated from the Institution after their success completion of their level 1,2 courses.

The institution celebrated their first graduation since its estabishment and is registered with the examination body KNEC and their graduates are set to be issued with a trade test certificates from the government upon
completion of their courses.
