Migori county government secretary Christopher Rusana

While Migori governor Okoth Obado is working for Migori residents, senator Ochillo Ayacko main work is to un-productively criticize everything County secretary Christopher Rusana has said.

Rusana said that while Obado is out to fulfill his mandate to deliver development pledges to development, his rival Ayacko main mandate has been to criticize each step.

He was reacting to a statement by Ayacko’s office manager Richard Solo that the senator’s mandate is to put the county government in check.

“When senator was elected he was mandated to put the governor and county government in check, his criticism should not be seen as a direct attack on any individual,” Solo, the immediate former North Kamagambo MCA said.

Solo, the former assembly majority leader, said while Obado was playing his part in ensuring devolved funds were being effectively used, senator’s work was to check on accountability.

“Ayacko has never attacked anybody, his criticism is mandate by voters and he is doing his work,” Solo said.

But Rusana said that the statement showed that Ayacko is out to scuttle Obado’s work to the people.

“As you heard Ayacko is out to criticize everything, let him continue as we also continue to work,” Rusana said.

The two leaders were speaking on Friday during the funeral service of Mzee Disco at Oruba estate in Migori town.
