Migori governor candidate Ochillo Ayacko has bolstered his bid with a meeting of elders and opinion shapers from Karungu clan in Nyatike constituency.

Ayacko held several meetings in Sori, Alendu and Lwanda Konyango area.

“Among the issues raised is dividing Nyatike constituency into three to ensure Karungu which has Kanyasa and Kachieng’ wards get a unit, both political and administrative,” Ayacko said.

Ayacko said from the meeting he has promised he will push the agenda of the community through ODM leader Raila Odinga.

“These claims are genuine and recently Nyatike was divided into two, we know it will be possible to add another unit because it is expansive,” Ayacko said.

He was flanked by Raphael Odundo, retired chief and Kanyasa MCA candidate Clement Ayungo.

“We have aspirations as a community from Karungu and we believe this is the way forward of having it,” Odundo said.

He said for the past 36 years they have been seeking services from Macalder which is far from the area.

“We are happy the constituency was divided, we believe we will achieve more through political negotiations,” Odundo said.

Ayungo said as a community they have aspirations in improving the fishing industry, education and road networks in the forthcoming devolved unit.

“We are sure with Ayacko as governor and Raila as President through the ODM structure we will make sure we feel part of government unlike in the past,” Ayungo said.
