At last Awendo MP Jared Kopiyo has taken the bold step of publicly defecting back to ODM party from Ford Kenya which sponsored him in parliament.
Kopiyo defected today during the ODM@10 rally in Kisumu town putting to rest his rivals campaign against him as an outsider.
In last elections, the little known Kopiyo floored ODM candidate and businessman Walter Sirawa comfortably after campaigning on a platform of peace.
In last elections Sirawa was supported by former Rongo MP and the now Migori governor aspirant Ochillo Ayacko.
Sirawa and Ochillo are back in active politics which has forced Kopiyo to warm up to Governor Okoth Obado re-election for survival. READ HIS SUPPORT HERE
With his defection, Kopiyo now stands a better chance for other governor and senate aspirants to make vote inroads in Ayacko’s backyard.
Kisumu Orange rally also drew in other defectors: Kisumu West Mp Hon Olago Aluoch formerly of Ford Kenya and Muhoroni MP Koyoo James Onyango formerly of PDP have defected to ODM party.
